Projections for Show is this idea possible? How?

I am doing a show where I want to have the following set up. I have a Mac Mini running Qlab which is set to trigger video cues and send MIDI signal to Ableton Live and run MultiTracked effects. I want to have a 1 projector with one set of graphics/images mapped in different ways and another 2 projectors that project different images from the first but are linked to each other, so they will both mirror each other. I will then need to run a USB out to send the Ableton tracks out sometimes as many as 8 tracks to the soundboard. It would be amazing to have 2 monitors at the booth position 1 for Qlab control display and 1 for Ableton Display. I do have 2 Mac minis available if that will help but would prefer to use only 1.

If I were to approach this I would use one Mac Mini running Qlab, and Ableton, This could have two displays. I would then use the other Mac Mini running qlab for the video. A TripleHead2Go can be used if you need additional outputs. This can be triggered over a network from the 1st Mac.

Well then you need to test if you can output 4 displays. It will depend on your projections and resolution.

You will need a TH2go for the displays.

Next you will need loopBE to do QLab to Albeton if you keep it to one PC. Then obviously audio out whatever you prefer.

Ideally you should make use of your two macs and separate this all up because 4 displays, video rendering, 2 programs running, and audio out is a bit much for a mini.

+1 for Amiers. You absolutely want to separate the video from the rest of this. I assume that your Mac Mini is using integrated video as opposed to discrete video. That means that the CPU must do all the processing. If you had a tower with a discrete video card, this might be accomplished with a single computer. As it stands, I would separate it as above.

Sounds overly complicated and prone to failure (I use Ableton with my synths)...wouldn't it be easier (assuming you're playing the same sound files every time) just to play prerecorded sound files?

I'm putting something together right now but instead of using Ableton to recreate it live every time, I'm exporting soundfiles from it that I could just double-click to play!
