CT ShowBaby question

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with showbaby transceivers where they only seem to work at lower addresses? I own 5 units and they have always been 100% reliable, but I realize I’ve happened to run only low addresses through them in the past. I also have a mix of models 5 and 6. Any experiences or thoughts?

I’m just using them as a wireless DMX link. So one is connected to the console, usually Hog, the other to several fixtures and a couple foggers. This has happened with different fixtures on different setups. If the fixtures are given high number addresses, it’s like they aren’t there. If I change their address to lower numbers, say below 200, they work fine. In all cases there is strong signal indicated on the receiving unit, and Dmx present is shown on the fixtures.

I vaguley remember an issue like this. I can't remember off the top of my head what the solution was I would need to check the tech support log. I have sent this over to our tech support guy as well he should chime in soon.

If you would like you can give us a call at 201-549-1160 and we can work through the problem.

We have seen this bug on occasion. We are working to track down the exact cause. If you have access to an RDM controller then a factory reset should solve the problem. Give me a call if it continues to give you trouble.

I know you can set them to transmit fewer than the full 512 addresses? I forget what modes it has, but something like 512, 256, 128, and 64 addresses. Is the transmitter set to one of these modes?
Transmitting fewer addresses lets it send them more frequently, and frees airtime for crowded spectrum.

That setting as actually only available on the Neo transceiver and the Vero System. On The Show Baby you can change the output power and the Show ID.

Thanks for all the replies. I’ll create a setup in the shop to re-create the problem and get some solid facts, then give a call. Thanks again.
