Draper Retractable Screen Tearing

So, I have a Draper screen in our Black Box space that has been there for about 6 or 7 years. It's a manually retractable screen approximately 9'x12'. I noticed yesterday that the pipe pocket is tearing apart which could lead to it dropping the pipe from about 15' if someone closes it with too much force.
Has anyone else run into this problem before and if so, did you find a solution?
It appears to have been glued or heat sealed during manufacturing, but I'm wondering if it can be sewn shut.
The material looks to be some sort of plastic over fabric, so I think it could be possible.
I was also thinking of maybe sewing some reinforcement straps on the edges to prevent this from happening aga

in.

I would call Draper. This probably isn't under warranty but if the screen is as young as you say it is, they should make every effort to correct this for you.

I believe that seam is typically taped with VHB or heavy duty "Snot tape" It looks like it's the vinyl facing pulling off the fiber underlay rather that the tape itself failing. Yeah, Call Draper, (765)987-7999, they have great customer service.

I called Draper. They were very helpful. The guy said it is heat seamed in the center with snot tape and a staple on either end.
It is also a fiberglass fabric and can be sewn.
So, when the schedule clears in a few weeks, we're going to pull it down and I'm going to sew it back together and probably sew a webbing or something along the seam in the back (and maybe the front) to give it a little more strength so I don't ever have to do this again.
I'll reply again when I'm finished so this thread has a resolution.

If your machine has the capability be sure to 'Zig-Zag' the seam. Isn't Draper great?! super customer service.
