How do you set up ChromaQ ColorForce II?

It sort of depends on what you want them to do. Many of the LED striplights can be pixel mapped. The Force II has 4 engines per foot. Depending on the selected mode if you want all the fixtures to produce the same color you could set all the fixtures to the same 4 dmx addresses. That saves lots of dmx channels and makes it easier to program. Then again if you want to get fancy you could address each engine separately. That makes programming more difficult and chews up many dmx channels.

We have Type 2's in 72" and 12", run off a legacy Ion with 2.8 OS.

On the fixture we set them in X2 mode, RGBA, On Top. The 72's then use 54 addresses, the 12" use 22. We usually use 6 x 72" to wash a drop/cyc, thus send a single universe which for 6 x 54 addresses is 324 addresses. This mode has 2 adjacent cells as a group. If we ran them as single cell control, it's 103 addresses per fixture, which means 2 universes to the 6 fixtures, which we desire to not do. Nobody has as yet complained that there's insufficient control.

The Ion patch can be either RGBA x2 (or 1), On Top (54) or same with MC which gives you multi-cell control.
