Well... The digital RF is not avoiding IMD... It is basically ignoring it.

The IMD is still there, but because of the extremely narrow band-width (and stroooong SAW type filtering) necessary the spurious external signals don't have enough of the desired signal to "grab onto" to make it modulate spuriously.

In other words, those 2.4GHz digital systems are insensitive to IMD.

There is not a practical way to combine these signals given current non-magical technology.

The problems with digital that the manufacturers will tout as advantages are primarily that it is either working... or it isn't.

Unlike our old analog wireless systems that could fade a little and still be heard... digital is there then pouf it is not.

Oh, and ten "channels" is about the practical limit for these systems given their micro-slice of spectrum.

The AT system here is clever in that the RX modules can be popped out and placed closer to the action via a dedicated NIC.

You can't run it through a switch or your fiber (even with converters), but you can get 99 meters closer... in the lab. I'd wager 70-80 meters is more realistic ITRW.

My problem with the AT system is short handheld TX battery life. We got about 70 minutes on a set of good duracells.

Otherwise this rack looks legit. I like the Rolls mixer, they are fairly neutral (we have a fleet of them here).

70 minutes on alkaline is very poor. Audio Technica recently lost a sale to me because of the proprietary mic connector on the belt packs. I want to use mics from other manufacturers and not be limited to AT's. AT, are you listening?

The mics for this system are the ATW-T1006 desktop boundary units.

The 3.7V rechargeable lithium-ion battery should give me nine hours of use on a full charge and is easily recharged with the included USB charging cable.
