Gel Strings - Where to buy?

A Theatre company I work with just picked up 4 Chroma-Q M5+ scrollers. We initially got them to use as a douser for some UV pars we were using in a show. Now I'd like to task them for their intended purpose. Unfortunately I can't find 17" gel stings. Everywhere I read, including here, says it's best not to make your own. To create the two frames for use as a douser was easy, and worked great. However I can't imagine the tedious mess creating a 16 gel string would be.

Any advice?

@wah0808 Let's use the Control Booth forum's Bat Call to summon Apollo's @GreyWyvern for you.

Not that buying them isn't the easier way to go but I use to make strings for my Coloram II's all the time.

I found using one of those push cutters instead of the guillotine style when cutting the segments made everything a lot easier. We would only make 10-12 though so it wasn't too terrible.

The MFG of the scrollers might have a recommendation on whether self-made is recommended or not.

Useful note: Apollo will make gelstrings with color from any of the major manufacturers; one needn't be limited to just ApolloGel. (Though I suspect they'd prefer that.)

Was going to suggest http://www.gelstrings.com/ . Glad I went to their site first. Guess I never got the memo.

I keep asking, and receiving no answer, "Whatever happened to "the girls of Precision Gel ?"

EDIT: My bad. @Kelite answered me in 2010, in this thread: https://www.controlbooth.com/threads/gels-for-apollo-color-scrollers.17371 .

So was I. Sad to see that they closed down, but I do remember thinking they didn't have the most sustainable business model. Maybe enough for a guy working out of his garage, but not something that could support a brick-n-mortar plus a few employees.
