Cross-Posting to a few groups, please forgive if you see this more than once. We are re-visiting our youth protection policies, and I am looking for examples from other organizations. If you have a good one, please share!
The Best Youth Protection Program/training for adults is offered by the BSA. Anyone can use it. It tracks individuals training status and when one needs to re-up.
I second that .. tho it’s now called Scouting BSA since all genders are welcome! Our troop has 10 girls and 50 boys ... we are learning fast. And yes a few are thespians and techies!
Amen to the BSA Program. Key points for your policy -Background checks, two deep leadership, no one on one in a non-public area, gender specific facilities, Youth Protection training for all. If you are in PA, http://www.keepkidssafe.pa.gov/resources/training/index.htm has good resources
I get that but "gender specific facilities" does not sound like all private, one person facilities. There's much room for improving that statement of principle.
