Pan Not Working

Hello, I have a bar that has a performance this Saturday. The pan stopped working on a fixture, it's an Intimidator Spot 355 IRC. It's out of warranty, so after opening it, it looks like the belt is fine. It pushes left to right fine, but will not pan when going through it's testing or when controlling it with a Nomad. I called Chauvet, after ensuring it isn't a DMX issue, and they mentioned a pan motor, then recommended I get a motherboard part that has the display screen after that. It should be here tomorrow and I can swap it to see if it works then. What should I do if it doesn't, I'm not sure how to proceed from here? That and I can't find a "pan motor" on the Chauvet parts website to order as a backup part if this should fail. I would love to hear your suggestions.

You're basically looking for a metal cube with a shaft on one end and wires plugged into the side. The are called stepper motors, which allow the electronic brain of the light step them through fine increments of a revolution via a stepper driver (I'm surprised they didn't recommend changing this too), and are used for just about every permittee in a moving light.

I'm not seeing a parts view, so I'll have to check one of the units on my bench tomorrow, but I believe you're looking for either this stepper, or this one (since pan/tilt are higher stress, it's probably the more expensive one).

It pushes left to right fine,
Could also be the hall effect sensor. It wants to see that "home" position. If it doesn't, it quits. Very small cheap part. Some units use an optic pair (led & sensor) with a hole through the plate to find home. Others use a glued on magnet and hall sensor. Needless to say, the magnet falling off would also cause the problem! Hard to guide you without looking at the parts sheet.
