CUE is a couple months away yet but I was thinking about it today because I needed to get my travel booked.

Looks like most of the tracks are full but there's still some room for the Backstage and Hog tracks.

I went on Majestic's website, looking for something to do Saturday night in Madtown. Discovered that none other than Here Come The Mummies are playing a free show Friday night on King Street. There is no way to describe their magnificence if haven't experienced the Mummies before. Their identities are masked but the rumors are that a couple Grammy winning sessions artists are in the group but can't reveal themselves because their individual record labels would fight each other over what they're doing.

If you decide to skip out on the picnic that first night, walk a few blocks over from the convention center and join the party.

Which track are you taking? I'm still on the fence about going this year. I've been to the past two and I felt like not enough changed between the two years to justify going every time.

Also, I'd hate to miss the picnic. It's one of the Best Parts!

I'll be on the Design on Cue track. Would've liked to get a little overlap with the other tracks but I understand why ETC can't make it a free-for-all the way that it used to be.

I suspect this will be a good year to go to Cue (as well as the picnic). There will be some raising of glasses to Fred. Probably some memorializing of where ETC came from and some conversation about the direction they're headed. Hard part for me is when I think of that outdoor grassy knoll @ HQ, I have iconic memories of Fred on his ice cream tricycle and of David North showing off his Corvette. Lot's changed since the last time I visited.

...and of David North showing off his Corvette.
David North had a Corvette? Another reason to like him. New or vintage? Anyone at ETC have any pictures?

1. bought Corvette.
2. sold Corvette.

Oh man, now you're gonna put me on the spot and I know there's a photo that someone's gonna dig up and it's going to clearly be not a Corvette and then I'm the dick who has to admit he doesn't know cars.

...found it...firetruck red Porsche.

Somewhere there's a nice aerial shot of a bunch of classic cars from one of ETC's HQ events.

Anyone coming to CUE today/tonight who’s not here already, the rest of today is happening at the factory in Middleton.

Downtown Madison is blacked out from a substation fire. Happened just as David Lincecum was about to do his keynote — he did ended up doing it Fred style from a road case in the lobby.
