Glenda help- no flying in our theater

I’m looking for any suggestions for Glenda’s entrances and exits for Wizard of Oz musical. We cannot fly in our theater. I was even looking for any option for a rolling piece that could start out tall, get shorter and vice versa. I’m open to any ideas you all have. Thanks so much.

Not sure what "no flying" includes but I saw an effective airplane bit where a model plane was "flown" stage on a wire including vertical and horizontal movement and then a lot of commotion and effects in the wing before pilot stumbled on. A "Glenda action figure" on some trick line or even a moving projection and then her "landing" as entering might be fun. Or make a video with the actress in costume and project on backdrop so as if to land behind some scenery or in wing and then live actress enters.

I’ve always envisioned a platform on the end of a teeter totter setup with wheels in the middle roll it on from the wings where just the platform shows then you teeter your totter to land her and whala. manual control will be faster versus some sort of variable speed motor that can lower the load. Of course this this route you will need to take all the safety precautions.

Projections will be easier but obviously less realistic.

Realistic Glenda the flying witch?

I was thinking fun with two action figures or models - one small - left to right EG - one half size right to left - and then full size enters from left - maybe a jump form a not to tall platform in wings. Kind of effect that can get applause, no matter how unrealistic.

Two people dressed as clouds either side of her, carrying her on their shoulders then setting her down gently? I might actually be tempted to have the same two do ALL the "magic" bits... If you can't go realistic, I say run in the opposite direction. Let the audience bring some imagination to the enterprise.
