Chuavet has just announced their new mover, the Maverick Silens 2 Profile.

I got a chance to see and more importantly not hear the prototype a while back. I'm so excited to finally be able to talk about it. I put my own ear 1 foot away from this product while it was doing a moderately paced ballyhoo and it was SILENT. No fan. No movement sound. Silent. When they cranked the speed up to full you could hear it a bit. But it is QUIET!!! Equally impressive was the LED engine. They did a 30 second dim from 10% to 0 and you couldn't see anything. I was staring at the screen trying to decide if i was actually still seeing an image at 3% or if it was ghost of the image printed in my retinas... nope it was still fading. REALLY amazing. It has a red shift feature that was beautiful! It also has some great animation effects too.

I'm so happy to finally be able to talk about this. I've been lucky enough to be able to see a few prototypes but this is the first one that I left the room saying, I want to order that right now! I run a high school performing arts center and silence is critical. These will be a huge addition to my inventory. Take my money now Chauvet!! PLEASE!

Big congratulations to our friend @Ben Dickmann this was his baby and he really did it right!

Not just yet. As we release details over the coming weeks, pricing will be among them, so, make sure your local dealer/distributor knows you're interested as pricing will come to them first.

Thanks for that. They certainly look as if they would fit the bill. I have a stock of Rogue R2 wash heads which I love in every respect, ironically except for the noise😥. So a really silent moving spot would really be welcome. I look forward to seeing them, maybe at Plasa (hopefully normal business will have resumed by then🤞🤞).

Just got an email that the big debut of Mavrerick Silens 2 Profile is coming next Thursday June 18th at 2pm Eastern on Chauvet's Youtube and FB live channels.

Like I said before, I got to see (not hear) a prototype and was blown away by what it could do while being completely silent. I can't wait to see the final product... and hopefully get a few of them in my rig soon!

It is indeed...we finished taping it yesterday. 2pm (Eastern), NEXT Thursday (18th) on Chauvet Professional social outlets. I'll be on FB answering questions.

Nice work!

For those who may have missed Ben's presentation, you can see it HERE. It should answer many of your questions...

Is that available without using Facebook in any way, shape or form?

Outside of Facebook and YouTube (the link above), I think you can find it on the Chauvet Professional Instagram page.
here’s the direct YouTube link:

So I have to say it again, this thing is TRULY amazing I mean RIDICULOUSLY quiet and absolutely feature packed. It's everything you could ever want in a Theatrical or H.O.W. environment where sound matters. They are not faking the intro to the video where our friend @Ford walks up and plugs it in, it really is THAT quiet. On the prototype when they cranked movement up to full speed you could hear just a faint whir as it moved. But only if you were less than 5 feet away. I'm confident under normal theater conditions, no one in the audience would ever hear them do anything. The fade from 10% to zero over 30 seconds was mind blowing! I'm not sure if I've ever seen a incandescent hang on to just a tiny breath of light like that! I think my favorite thing was the animation effect from the virtual strobe (Its about 18 minutes into the video). That was really cool to see. Can't wait to get my hands on a few of them in my space! Congratulations again @Ben Dickmann you really crushed this one.

@Ford is there a MSRP price for these yet?

It's an interesting video. Love the fixture features more than any recent fixture that I can recall. The dimming is huge, the subtle colors and WOW, swapping a static gobo into the rotating slot! That's ingenious and something we've all hated being stuck with before.
Thankful the video wasn't just a bunch of ballyhoos in haze but, I wish in the video, you could see what he was talking about, while he was talking about it. You could see in Ben's gestures that he so wanted to point at the thing he was talking about. Thinking its a PR video and not a tech video makes sense, but the longer I watched it, the less it seemed like a PR video and the more I felt like the target audience.
All-in-all, great job chauvet for making a killer fixture for us theatre folk.

Thanks @macsound for the kind words... I am definitely way more comfortable backstage than on camera "What do I do with my hands!!!". It was designed more as a PR introduction to do a quick overview of the fixture itself. We wanted to hit on all the key features and briefly show them in B-roll. I really wish the dimming showed better, but the combination of low light and streaming compression makes it tough, its really something that has to be seen live. We are launching with this fixture a way to do a virtual demo with one of our team and the actual fixture so you can see live what it can do and ask specific questions. I believe that's up on the website now. (I personally hate product videos that are 50 fixtures with perfect haze doing a bunch of pre-programmed looks too...)

You're great on camera. Only way to get better is to do more of it and then it becomes second nature. Lately been watching a lot of adam savage and it's been interesting to see how well he does with an iPhone clip since he doesn't have his usual crew.
You're right, the dimming did have a bunch of dithering from the youtube compression but still comes across great, as does the red shift on dim.
2 questions
1. Brightness when using the virtual strobe? I assume it's based on whatever percentage of the chip you're using? Any possibility to see how you program that?
2. Animation wheel, can you see it spin in and where in the plane is it?
Thanks again!

MAP (Street) pricing will be around $9,000.00, YMMV based on whatever deal you can work with your Chauvet Professional Dealer of choice.

@macsound on the strobe, because of the 100% convection cooling, the LED array is only running at a fraction of it's potential for heat management and lifespan reasons. When using the electronic strobe channel, the fixture knows it does not need to utilize the heat sinks full cooling capability. We know that the strobe won't be used continuously for an hour either, so, we calculated a safe margin we could run the output of the fixture at and still maintain safe cooling levels, this came out to about 20% brighter in strobe.

For the animation wheel, I'm not sure exactly what you're after here, depending on focus and conditions, you can see the animation wheel enter the optical train as you can with any effect. It's placed closest to the source on the gobo module.
