Here is a story from NBC about UV-C sanitation with some further details.
MODS, feel free to move this if it would work best appended to another thread.
UV sanitation has been a thing for a while now. Here in London is TROJAN who makes UV water sanitization systems, which I've installed in municipal water treatment plants 10 years ago.
There have also been "phone sanitizers" that use UV-C for a while now.
The problem with UV-C is that it is just as deadly to just about all known life on earth, including us. So stuff really focusing on the UV-C part of the spectrum needs to be used in a way to block the light from you.
There are great Sanitizing boxes/bags that you can pop things into that use UV-C, but look out for knockoffs that don't actually use UV-C but UV-A/B. This kind of thing sold out completely right at the beginning of the quarantine.
