Opto/ Light board not working when using 2. Output

We had 4 lights daisy chained ( group A ) and plugged into an opto. The board had control.

Then we had a second set of lights ( group B ) daisy chained and into the opto.
All fixtures addressed same.

The problem was board didn't have control of group B. We thought it was a bad DMX so we switched out the DMX and still not working. We then skipped the opto and went with group B straight into the board and it was working.

We went back to using the opto and DMX not recognized by the fixture. St the end we just skipped the opto and chained group A to group B.

Anyone encountered this problem before? Is it a bad opto?

Since you know the opto output that Group A was plugged into was working correctly, did you try unplugging Group A and plugging Group B into it?

that was tried. I forgot to mention that we used group B by itself into opto and board was working.

so opto works with only 1 output but doesnt work when 2 outputs are used. I am assuming its a broken opto? haven't had chance to test the opto more in different configuration such as using more outputs and etc

How many outputs on the opto? If there were more than 2 did you try another? Sounds like a bad output to me.

Yeah sounds like the "B" output on the opto is dead. Should be fixable.
One thing that might of happened is exactly what the opto is designed to do, protect the system as a whole from something that fryed that output.
