Triscuits for Ramps and Raked stages?

Hey all,

I'm currently working on finding the safest way to build a design comprised of ramps and raked platforms.
The designer has done their best to incorporate our platforming inventory in their designs. They suggested using our triscuits for one large raked area.
I'm fairly new to using triscuits in general, and while I understand the basic design and mechanics, I'm a little worried about using them to build a raked stage. My concern is any weight on the surface applies pressure to the the fasteners rather than the stud wall frames.
Am I over thinking this? Would you be comfortable building a raked area using triscuits?

How steep is the rake? How big of an area is it? Is your platforming inventory more triscuits or something else?

Triscuits are acceptable for building a raked platform. Unless you have a very steep rake, any weight or force would still be on the stud wall and minimally on the fasteners. If you go that route and still have concern, use lag bolts instead of wood screws in your triscuits; they can be made to use either one. I have also used 2x framed platforms for rakes, putting them on stud walls like you would do with triscuits (supported every 4ft) if that's what's in your current inventory.

It never hurts to overthink. In the end, you as the builder need to feel comfortable with what you put on the stage. If you aren't comfortable, don't build it.

Thanks for your response.
There are several areas I'm considering with various rakes, but they range between ~4 degrees to ~9-11 degrees. (I am also discussing the safety of such a steep rake with the designer as well.)
I feel pretty confident the 4 degree rake would be fine for triscuits, but it's encouraging to hear another point of view.
Lag bolts are a good call - I had been considering those as well.

I did a production of "The Road to Moscow" forever ago. it was comprised of a 5x7 grid of 4x4 triscuits each at a different direction of rake. That was the only nightmare. Everything else actually went easy except for dealing with Equity. Everything below a LORT rating is required to keep any given rake to below 3/4" as a safety concern for actors. I always screwed through the framing 1' OC but using shear rated or 'framing rated' screws they have more than sufficient shear rating for taking lateral loads experienced with a rake. You could probably justify using Drywall screws depending on the loading OR add an additional friction layer/material between the framing and the triscuit to increase the friction coefficient.
