ClearCom Electret Mic

I have a system of clearcom Helix-Net packs.
I also have some headsets that I’d like to use that have electret mic’s that need a bias voltage or at least 4v.
According to the specs, the bias from the pack is only 1.7v
Is there a way of providing this extra power and how I could go about wiring that?

What model of headset are you trying to use?

I've done a few custom headset builds in the past that needed higher bias, I ended up building a fairly simple preamp circuit with a 9V battery as a power source. I've also found that some electrets can handle the lower bias just fine to charge the plates, you'll just end up with a slightly weakened output volume that you'd have to compensate for in the Helixnet CRM with a gain adjustment.

It’s an aviation headset.
Mic specs are as follows;
6 to 16 VDC through 220 to 2200 Ohm

That being said, it works when connected to Bluetooth via the 2x AA Batteries. And it works on Riedel which is ~4v.
So it feels like it just needs a bit of extra voltage for helix net.

I went into the clearcom manager and set the mic type to electret and gained up as much as I could but no luck

Looks like you're going to need to build an external preamp then to interface it with Helixnet.

Riedel gear is a lot more tolerant of a lot more things in general as it is built with more industrial applications in mind.
