Telex tr-82n compatibility

Hi, I’m building up a system with 4 telex tr-82n beltpacks and I’m not sure about the compatibility of this units, is it possible to pair it with a btr-800 of the same band? Or even mix tr-825 with tr-82 units of the same band with a btr-800? Or do I need to stay with a btr-80n when using the tr-82n beltpacks?

Thanks for your time
Best regards
JP

If you're investing in fresh wireless intercom, Telex would be the last place I'd be looking these days. If you really feel like cursing yourself with a fresh purchase of BTR I'd give a call into the RTS support to ask this question, I just ran down the spec sheets and they seem to mostly match, however the BTR-80N advertises fantastic new, "narrow band technology" which makes me question if they'd truly be compatible.

I understand your point, in fact I cross with the oportunity of buying this 4 tr-82n really cheap and here in Portugal the electromagnetic spectrum is not so crowed as you have in US, in fact 500Mhz band is still open and the 600Mhz as lot of space.
The Full Compass store state that the tr-82n is to use with the btr-800... But as you say the narrow band could be the problem.
If any one crossed with this situattion please tell me.
Kind regards
JP

I saw that, my guess is that they are compatible with one another, they have just gotten better control on the base bandwidth. Write into RTS and you'll get an answer.

My comment wasn't totally about available bandwidth, you have so many better sounding options on the market right now. BTR's have always been finnicky with questionable build quality. If you do go that route, drop a bit of hot glue onto the beltpack antennas and buy spares - those things fall off if you look at them wrong. Don't bother with the BTR rechargeable batteries - use rechargeable AA's and keep the back-plate off of the normal battery holder.

Telex is slashing their product lines and focusing in on other markets. Intercom products aren't shown on their website. I would be very leery of making a new purchase because support and parts might be gone tomorrow. Frankly, I'm surprised Bosch hasn't killed off the brand completely.

I just got the answer from the RTS support, and they say, No, it does not work. End of line! Could any one confirm this? I would say if they stay tunned they would comunicate... at least.

You got a no from the manufacturer, you had two folks tell you not to invest in Telex equipment - I think that's your answer right there.
