Seachanger Magnet Replacement

Hi All,

I have two Ocean Optics Seachangers where the green color wheel can't calibrate because of a missing magnet. I have some replacement magnets and glue that will likely be only a quick fix and not last. Has anyone had success with tracking down replacement parts for Seachangers? Thanks in advance.

Old information but might still work. Plus has fix it information

Thanks for the response. I've checked out Pixelteq and emailed Tom, but the email bounced back, and of course, so did an email to Ocean Optics. It seems like Ocean Optics vanished without a trace along with Pixelteq, or Pixelteq is in a different market now. Will give the other ideas a shot, hoping to find the correct magnet strength. I've tried using some other magnets to no effect, it looks like it needs to be a specific strength. If anyone else has any tips or tricks for this, please let me know! Thanks

I had to repair some way back when. The orientation of the magnet matters- I taped them on with painter's tape first to check which side goes "up", then glued them on after verifying. Mark the "top" side with a marker so you know the orientation is correct when the magnet falls on the floor... Those tiny magnets are a pain.

Thanks Todd, that's a great idea to check with tape before glueing. How did you find replacement magnets? I can't find the one that is missing on the Seachanger, unfortunately, and haven't found any luck elsewhere online for this specific magnet size and strength. Thanks in advance.

Circling back to this. Pixelteq got bought by Salvo Technologies which is alive and well. So that is your lead.

The Reddit post did have some good starting solutions as to using any kind of ML magnet or trying with one of these. https://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=B112

Also I’m sure users in that thread are still active you could reach out to see what solutions they came up with.
