I looked into wiring in a transfer switch. For hooking up a portable generator. It's pretty easy. If I had the $$$$ kicking around, I'd do it in a flash. That'd be pretty awesome. Derek doesn't approve of video games, so I won't mention what my hypothetical generator would power. (Oh come on, honestly, Derek?) However, I can see the wiring aspect to be quite fun. Does anyone have a portable generator they use to power their home with?

I would love to get one of those Kohler whole-house generators. Mostly for an "in-your-face" to the neighbors during power outages. LOL

Might as well have CAT energy rental on speed dial. By the time they show up with the 18 wheeler, you can have the feeder cable run.
