In the United States, the 700 MHz (698-806 MHz) television broadcasting band has been reallocated to public safety two-way radio and commercial high-speed data access. Because of this transition, it is no longer possible to operate wireless microphone systems, IEM systems, or other wireless audio systems in this band. These systems will need to be replaced and taken out of service by June 12, 2009 at the absolute latest date.

Many manufacturers are offering a rebate for exchanging 700 MHz equipment for lower-frequency UHF band equipment. Check with manufacturer websites for more information on specific offers.
