A "year" into pandemic production.... also Rain still happens...

A little backstory, we're a little over halfway through this year's commencement ceremonies on our campus. Last year we returned full time to production for the rescheduled commencement ceremonies and now we're back 10 months later for round 2! A little wiser, a little bit healthier, but somehow more tired and a lot older.... We've been fortunate enough to be doing what feels like even more production than "normal", but it doesn't mean mistakes don't happen... thankfully not ours and we were able to save the day...

We handle the broadcast operations and work closely with a rental company for the stage setup, PA and Grid... standard outdoor truck stage nothing fancy. By no fault of their own we've had some pretty crazy weather overnight this week while away from the field and the motor distro got flooded... I mean we flipped it "upside down" and poured water of it like a bucket.... it was the only motor distro available from the generator to fly the PA... so while we waited for a replacement we were able to tap a feed into the field's PA for commencement football style. The neighbors weren't overly happy about it, but we did it!

This was a story to say those of us that have been here are happy to welcome our production family home. Productions are happening, mistakes still happen, but together we can work safe and keep the show running.
