Altman Explorer - Help!!

We have two Altman Explorer spots and neither one is working because the HMI bulbs are too short... and we lost the adapter.
Does anyone have any experience in modifying the socket to fit modern HMI bulbs or is there another solution?
...otherwise we're probably looking to sell these.

any help appreciated!

Buy new lamps. They come with the extra standoff just in case of length issue.

You could also reverse the socket holder 180 degrees so that they are a shorter distance from each other. However Not recommended.

If you can’t source or make the standoffs to get to the desired length then look to buy a newer socket that will fit an HMI and have it installed by someone that knows what they are doing.

Sorry in loosing the adaptors and those that came with the new lamps seemingly. Call out to the forum in anyone having extra in apparently adapters are provided with new lamps? Not aware of this adaptor coming with the lamps but possible?_ This lighting fixture is not in my notes so I have no knowledge of it's lamp or adapter. What specific lamp is it using? School or local metals shop can certainly make something, but easier if example given in found to make one from.

Appairently you now need a lamp for one, or at least a spare. Given the lamps come with adaptors (I was not aware of them coming with adaptors), it than in fabricating more above, should not be a problem assuming a spare lamp or working lamp.

Altman website lists the discontinued Explorer series of followspot but don't click to details. Overall sounds like a large problem. Where were the lamps disposed of, assuming HMI lamps from the above, was the the proper disposal of them, and given this, might the bad lamps with adaptors still be about somewhere in getting back?

Found this PDF on parts list and breakdown. Might want to download and save.

I know I fequently buy the HMI 1200w/DXS for the Lycian 1271, and have a UMI-1200/GS and MSR 1200 in stock including more in the above GE lamp familiar. Seems like a common lamp for the fixture type still made.
