American DJ Accu Fog 1000 DMX Fog Machine

I am designing a dance show for a high school auditorium i manage. I am looking to see if anyone has used the American DJ Accu Fog 1000 DMX Fog machine. Is this machine worth the cost? Or is there a place around Chicago, where one can be rented for a week? Any thoughts on the machine would be appreciated.
