Another foam tree

Here are some pictures of a tree I made for a scene from Genesis. I call it the "Stump of Knowledge". The height was limited to 13 feet by the location and the diameter had to be big enough for the snake puppet operator.

This started as a solid block of EPS (the white bead foam they make cheap ice chests from), then I hot wired 5 long chunks to glue into a hollow column. The 2x4 and plywood back gave a place to anchor a door and wheels for portability.

After glueing on a limb, I carved away everything that wasn't a tree and painted it.

Side notes:
1. Adam and Eve are wearing more than "fig leaves" because this production is held OUTSIDE in DECEMBER in Indiana! Can you say "Brrrrrrrrr"?
2. Hidden in the dark above the stump is a 30 foot square camoflage net for foliage.
3. I replaced the 15 foot-long snake's eyes with bright red industrial indicator lights that really get attention.
4. Mrs. Footer: You are right about the foam getting everywhere.
5. I haven't figured out how to put the pictures in the text so please have patience with me.
6. I like Footer's tree better than this one. I'm glad it's not a contest.
