Does anyone have the Audio Technica AT853rx hanging choir mics? Last night, after about a year of having them (duh), I noticed a small switch on the connector. It looks like a switch between when you use the wire hanger (a diagram of an angled thingy) and when you don't (the thingy is a straight line). I see nothing about the switch in the manual. Does anyone know how this affects things? Also, wasn't this mic very popular? Why was it discontinued?

Manufacturers' web sites are always a good place to start with such questions. The basic description of the AT853Rx on Audio-Technica's web site notes 'Switch: Flat, roll-off' and "'Low Frequency Roll-off: 150 Hz, 6 dB/octave'. The description in the Spec Sheet , http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/resource_library/literature/9096a9ba3510ecd3/at853rx.pdf, states "A recessed switch in the power module permits choice of flat response, or a low-frequency roll-off to help control undesired ambient noise." It also shows the response with and without the roll-off.
