    1. Same as backpan, according to Scenery for the Theatre, Revised Edition, Burris-Meyer & Cole, Little, Brown and Company, 1971, page 284.

    2. See backpack dimmer, a single channel dimmer intended to be placed at the luminaire.

    3. Soft-sided container worn behind one's shoulders to carry books or camping gear, or for touring R&R shows, to carry spotlight colorframes, headset, beltpack, and 25' XLR cable.
