I noticed this at blueroom.org, great for anyone using prerecorded effects.
bbcsfx.acropolis.org.uk/
Since it is the beta version, I hope the eventual version is more searchable.

@JohnD Back in the 1970's the BBC effects library was released as 37 double-sided 12" 33.33 RPM records with some, but not all, cuts in stereo. Sometime after the Stratford Shakespearean Festival purchased it and meticulously re-recorded the 37 discs to 1/2" four track 10.5 " open reels at 15 IPS for durability, the BBC released their library as cassettes. I believe I recall the BBC eventually releasing their library on CD's. By then I'd purchased The Hollywood Edge on CD's from California. I had one Stratford director whose favorite barking dog effect was the BBC's 3A14, disc 3, side A, cut14 Alsatian. Years after I'd moved on, I received a phone call from a new soundperson asking where he could find Robin Phillips' favorite barking dog. Purportedly he'd auditioned every recorded dog bark he could find and Robin was still insisting upon his favorite dog bark, the one Ron used to play for him. To this day, I still recall 3A14 Alsatian.
Toodleoo!
Ron Hebbard.

Interesting, when I am using Edge browser and I get the little warning symbol in the address bar since it seems it is [http:] and not [https:].

Just note that the license only allows use for "personal, educational or research purposes."
