Does anyone have any experience buying Chinese lights from eBay or Alibaba? Currently looking at these because I've used them in the past and they are very reliable, I'm looking for the best value for the money under $400

There is no such thing as a 7R OSRAM lamp. The Chinese make stuff up, and combine OSRAM, Philips, and YODN nomenclature, often times with off-brands that are none of the three. BUYER BEWARE.

Due to some shipping issues, the first case arrived damaged, and the two lights are kinda wonky.

The other two have been just fine. They use the same instrument profile as the brand name Sharpy, and seem like a pretty quality piece of equipment. I only use them on a couple gigs a year. Despite the appearance of quality, if I were using them every day I would opt for the name brand and all the reassurances that come along with it. I've not done any testing to see if they're truly hitting their spikes for every cue, as they'd have to in a theater setting.

I view the knockoff Chinese lights as semi-disposable, and not to be relied on for my theatrical work. For Burning Man/rave stuff, who cares?
