A BlackOut Curtain (or BlackOut Cloth) or is a full stage drape used to fully mask anything that is upstage of the curtain. Blackout curtains are often referred to using the acronym: BOC.
A BOC is quite often used just upstage of a painted scrim, and is flown out just before the dissolve-through effect happens.
