1. noun. A unit of measurement used for fabric (and other material), typically stored in a roll. The amount of yardage in a bolt varies. From the manufacturer, it is generally around 30 to 100 yards, then the distributor will re-roll into 15 - 25 yards to sell to the retailer. The amount is generally printed on the end of the bolt. The width bolts can also vary, including 35–36”, 39”, 41”, 44–45”, 50”, 52–54", 58–60” and 66”, 72", 96", and 108".

2. Noun. A thin cylindrical attachment hardware having male threads intended to go into a nut or other threaded hole.

3. verb. To depart a place or situation suddenly, with little warning or forethought. Subtext : actual fear. IE :" The producer's going postal, we'd best bolt while we can."
