books to get

Also good,

My most recent purchase has turned out to be a jewel among my collection of books. The American Woodworker's Shop Tips (amusingly enough published by Reader's Digest,) is a collection of hints and tips from woodworkers around the country. I cannot stress enough, its fantastic.

Structural Design for the Stage - The book is a very in depth review of structural design (as far as the stage is concerned, industrial engineers would probably use it as kindling.) Also has loads of charts and information that makes it an indispensable reference. Good for aspiring TDs.

Technical Design Solutions for Theatre, vol. 1 & 2 - absolutely great, collections of ten years of technical briefs. Another good TD selection.

For those who are learning to weld, Richard Finch's Welder's Handbook is invaluable. It even has stuff for the experienced weldors.

For those more experienced weldors, Industrial Press's Welding Essentials: Questions and Answers is a handy reference to keep around.
