boundary mics

    In what applications do y'alls use boundary mics? They seem like they would pick up alot of junk to me. Just curious...

    For theater uses, they are primarily used for floor mics. Some are omnidirectional, but there are also boundary microphones that have patterns (cardioid, super-cardioid, etc.).

    Just like any other microphone, they can be a blessing and a curse - it depends on your source, placement, and GBF of the system you are working on.
