Budget for listening assist?

But also realizing that the larger the space, the higher the chance there will be delay speakers. So even though you're 100' away from the performers, you're only 20' away from the delay speaker, reintroducing the "echo".

Wouldn't the delay speaker signal's time delay avoid reintroducing the echo (assuming the signal for the assistive listening transmitter was not time-delayed)? Or am I missing something obvious?
 
There's shows where I'd prefer to have assistive noise cancellation devices so I don't have to hear what's going on...

There are some houses where I've seen them trying to install the assistive listening devices to go along with some sort of delay. How practical is that when you may have someone in the orchestra on the same feed as someone in the rear balcony? Is it worth worrying? Some of me relatives (and as I age, me) probably wouldn't notice most of the non-synchronization because of the decline of hearing and vision.
