Hey i just got into cal arts and i am just wondering if anyone who is curently or has been through the program if they had any advice or tips for a new student. Also about living in dorm if it is better then gettting an apartment.
I realize this is an old post, but I thought I would add my ywo cents. For your first year, at least, you should stay in the dorms. Not only does it "build character", it is one less thing to worry about while you are acclimating to a new environment, feeling your way around school and a new town. Rent and bills are taken care of for the semester, and meals too, maybe. I had to stay in the dorms my first year in college, which I opposed but it was school policy for all first year students. Turned out to be the best thing I did and I stayed through my junior year. But dorm life is not for everybody, I know.
