cd players

From my personal experience I would have to recommend staying well away from Gemini CD players. Mine had no end of problems, and went back to them for repair over and over. I'm still having problms with it, and now they are disputing the validity of the warranty.
just my 2 cents...

and i see listed on musiciansfriend.com (which is guitar center)

That's part of your problem. They don't know about dj equipment, and what they have is too expensive.

Of the top quality brands, Denon and Pioneer make the best dj cd players (and I have been using them for over 20 years as a dj so I have a bit of experience at this). Gemini will never get a nickel of my money because I know the sales manager for them and he's the biggest jerk I know. I'd rather buy ADJ or Numark. Numark used to make some top quality dj mixers. But the business was sold, then it got bought back by the original owners, and something happened along the way. Quality went way down.

But try http://www.audiolines.com, http://www.pro-mix.com, or http://www.entsyscorp.com before going to goofball center.

Try ebay. You may be able to score a Denon 2500 for about $400.

Or, go with a pc based system. I use http://www.virtualdj.com which has a usb output to a small mixer. The mixer acts as a multi-channel sound card. The software is about $110 and the mixer is about $275. And no, it's never caused a crash in the 18 months I've used it, even with running my LightJokey software as well.

i had a trial of virtual dj, it wasnt bad. i dont know if it was just cause it was a trial version but after a while it started getting screwed up.
