Loudspeakers Ceramic Cartridge Fuses and proper seating

Hey all!

been working on some Behringer speakers that have those 6.3amp 250v ceramic cartridge fuses. There's one that seems to have problems with being seated properly, and only really works with the fuse cap twisted almost all the way in.

Anyone else encountered this problem? If so, any ideas for solving it? It's a pain to get up on the ladder every few days to fiddle with it!

Thanks for your time!

Either the spring on the inside of the fuse hold is mashed or the cap one is mashed.

Best solution is to stretch the spring out and hope it has life left in it.

Worst case replace the fuse holder.

Are you sure it is the right cap for the holder? Some have the spring in the holder, others have the spring in the cap. I once had a service call for that exact description and discovered the cap was not the original and that neither the cap or holder had a spring in it!
One other thing to check- with the unit unplugged, try pushing down on the spring in the holder (in equipped) with a small screwdriver. I remember another unit where the rear lug had a blob of solder on it from the factory that prevented the lug from moving. Since the lug was stuck all the way back it was not allowing the spring to expand and put pressure on the fuse.
