Changing an Individual Symbol's Color in Vectorworks

I've been looking for a while now, and I can't find any answer to this:

How do I change the color of just one symbol in Vectorworks. Any time I try, it recolors EVERY symbol, not just the symbol that I'm trying to recolor.

Well...that's the trick...in your resource browser make a duplicate of the the symbol you're trying to change the color of. Then make the changes to that symbol and insert it into the plot.
