Automated Fixtures Clay Paky Stage Light 300 Pan Belt tension

Recently replaced the tilt belts on a couple SL300s due to breakage, and now it seems after a few hours of running, the belt slips causing the fixture to lose its tilt position. I'm afraid of over-tightening the belts for fear they'll break again. Does anybody know the procedure for setting the proper belt tension? Any help would be appreciated.

Honestly, it is normal for belts to loosen up after being installed. I tighten them down pretty tight. I only allow about 3/8 of an inch of deflection when pushing on the belt max.

The problem I had is that I tightened it down apparently too much, and after 2 or 3 nights of use, the belt got a weak spot in it at one point. I'm afraid to tighten the new belts that much.

I have never over tightened. New belt start with a 1/4" of deflection and go from there. Sorry when I posted above I was thinking the color wheel belt.
