Color code

Years sgo i was once taught a phrase to remember the color code.
I cannot found my notes anymore.

Does anyone have a phrase to remember the sequence for color code?

Well, "Roy G. Biv" takes care of the rainbow portion. I suppose the black-brown ... grey-white isn't that hard to remember, as the 'wrapper' around the more colorful portion.

Don't forget that gold means it has a tolerance of 5%.

Black Brown Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Violet Gre(a)y White.

Unfortunately, too many of them are not PC anymore (Bad boys, Black boys, Batman blows, etc.)

This is the cleaner one I was taught (I learned Bad boys back in 3rd grade from the school custodian...)

Bad booze rots our young guts but vodka goes well.
