Company Switch to 220v outlet

Does it also need to be 50Hz? Seems odd that a computer wouldn't have a universal power supply...

You can get isolation transformers that turn 120V into 220V without too much hassle, but converting to 50Hz is a lot more expensive.

I figured there would be an adaptor that goes from 2 legs hot and ground cam lock to some flavor or a 220v outlet. Is this possible?
(Frequency issues aside...) Yes of course it' possible but requires more than "an adaptor." At minimum, you need some overcurrent protection there.

Perhaps something like

and use only two of the three legs (plus neutral plus ground) to power the "computer".

Phase to phase voltage will be 208V. If the guest computer will not run on that, you need a 120V t0 240V step up transformer.

I'm also suspicious of "220v" as almost nothing, on either side of The Big Pond, is specified for that voltage. About 20 years ago the UK and most of the EU "harmonised" on 230V. Parts of Japan are still 100V.
