As it applies to lighting, a connector strip is a sheet-metal wireway for the purpose of distributing power (and sometimes data) to luminaires. Usually 3"deep x 4"high and of unlimited length, they can have either flush-mount receptacles, or pigtails, or occasionally both (as shown below).
