Console Light - LED Replacement Bulb

Hey Guys,

I have a few 4pin goose neck console lights that all use the standard 12v 5w halogen bulbs (BLB242). Does anyone know of an LED replacement bulb that I can use for these?

If it's a Littlite, I suspect you need to swap the entire gooseneck to go LED.

Maybe contact the manufacturer,

Or Bulbtronics - 1 800 227 2252 and see if they can source the incandescent bulb to LED.

There are replacement bulbs, but they don't dim. So if you don't mind it going from dimmable to just on/off, then yes. Otherwise you need a whole new fixture to go to LED and still have the same functionality.

I made the mistake of buying a Hosa LED console lamp and it was too feeble. Getting much light out of an LED in a very compact space is challenging due to inadequate heat dissapation. It probably makes more sense to use halogen and carry a spare.

We have a LED console light on our x32. I really like it. It's dimmable - at the higher levels it uses a white and a red led, and when you dim it below about 70% it only turns on the red led. Not sure of the brand, I'll look next time.

Took a look today. It's a LittLite 18X-4-LED. 4-pin XLR, 12v. Pricey, but might be worth it.
