A piece of wire hardware intended to go through the hole in a Clevis Pin or similar for retainment purposes.

In touring situations, where much assembly and disassembly is to occur, an R-Clip is usually preferred, as the legs of a standard cotter pin will eventually break from repeated bending and straightening.
