The 2" round cross bar is very sturdy and you can use C-clamps on it in adition to the 4 bolt holes that it comes with. If you use a standard theatrical c-clapm i would hesitate to crank it down real tight because its thinner wall tubing. I usually use half-boro clamps on mine.
