So I started this new show. Love Death and Robots. It’s pretty amazing. This first episode had these LED high res video curtains. Granted this is CGI and the actual thing could be fake but if it’s not then what is it actually.

Theories welcome and or napkin sketches and million dollar ideas.

Personally i think it could be done with 2 options.

Beaded mirror curtains with front projections. (However when curtain opens projector would shoot through.

The more left wing idea would be a half circle of 2-4mm LEDS on strips that move like stringed beads. Not to be mistaken by mesh led curtains which do exist but is a mesh and not a curtain.

If I was trying to recreate that, I'd use front projection with a very high angle. All the falloff would be on the backstage floor. I'm sure it would take a lot of work to come up with the right material for the curtain.

To me it looks like a very simple rear projection. I'm not seeing the shapes follow the billows so not a LED fabric.
