Elation RGB LED Opti-Tri-PAR 10 deg vs 25 deg lens

First-time posting, but I have loved this forum for years. I am the events technician at a small university, and we have acquired several (21) Elation Opti-Tri-PAR units. They come with a 25 deg stock "lens" (or rather a series of lenses attached to a plate), and we recently purchased a few 10 degree lens plates to try out. I thought that I would share the results of our little test.

For most of the pictures, the lights are firing straight down from a height of 35' onto a grey puzzle mat (and some random gymnastics equipment).

If you are unfamiliar with these lights, you'll be quick to point out that with all channels at full (RGB) the "white light" is very purple. We set them up this way for the lens comparison. At the work-plane (3 feet off the ground) we get 3fc from the 25 deg lens. From the 10 deg, we get 13.3fc. This is expected from a tighter focus, but we still are not close to incandescents as far as white light output. Where we use these lights mostly for color washes and portable lighting, they work quite well.

Here is a look at the lights in a non-dark space and with the "bastard-amber" color for comparison.

Sometimes we get skeptical about the LED lights and accessories that we purchase, and I hope someone else finds these useful.
