ellipsoidal placement

My schools theatre has 4 electrics from from downstage the first electric has even number of fresnel and ellipsoidals (ellipsoidal, fresnel, ellipsoidal, fresnel etc.)
but our second electric is completely made up of fresnels, I would like to use leaf and cloud gobos in a coming up show to put on the cyc. Would it be wise to move ellipsoidals from the first electric and place them on the 2nd? or should I just focus them from 1st?

You can do it either way. It all depends on the angles you need, the beam angle of the lights in question, any obstructions in the way, etc.

1. Have you done a vertical section to see if the change in elevation, angle of will matter?
2. How about the change in throw distance?
3. First electric is often the best place, as closer electrics will have border s or other obstructions.
4. Since the fixtures are already on 1E, why not try before moving them?
5. What degree (field angle) are the fixtures?
