Hey everyone,

I have a 1st Gen ETC Element 500 Colsole with 2 physical universes. It was always my understanding that this console maxed out at 2 universes and if you wanted more you needed to upgrade to an ION (or an Element 2 now). I just did a software upgrade to 2.9.2 build 8 and while looking at the settings there are now 4 universes. Does this actually mean if I put a network gateway on the network I could have total 4 universes. 2 physical DMX ports.

Thanks,
Joe

The first gen Element is limited to 1024 addresses. The software just looks at the code on the dongle differently which is why you're seeing that.

If you tap [About] it should say something like 0 of 1024 addresses patched. If it says 0 of 2048, then something fishy is going on.

Thanks Tyler - I thought it was too good to be true!
Back to trying to find ways to pay for a console upgrade...
