ETC R20 Question

I'm reviewing the datasheet on the R20 relay module, and it doesn't mention how the relay is actually controlled. Can it be set up so that when the dimmer module receives DMX, the relay closes? Does it require an address be set to on? Just looking for more information on the control options.

The R20 will be controlled via your CEM or ACP, just as any other modules in your rack would be. For example: If you put the R20 into a Sensor3 rack, the CEM3 takes in control from DMX and/or sACN and then tells the relay to turn on/off. The DMX address of the relay is assigned through the CEM, not the R20 itself.

This makes sense, thank you. So there is no option to have it simply turn on when DMX is active? For example, ColorSource relays can be set to either turn on/off at a DMX address, or turn on whenever they sense DMX. Just trying to make things as easy as possible for the users.

You can set a threshold on the DMX address so it turns on at 1% instead of 50%, but it does need DMX signal on that address to turn on, not just the presence of DMX like ColorSource Relay.
You could automate this at the console by having a macro on boot to park the channel on and a macro on shutdown to park it off.
