Control/Dimming Express F/X cue

I am trying to write an Effect cue that crossfades from a previous cue, but when the F/X cue runs it freezes the channels of the out-going cue. Any ides to fix this issue???

Add a cue in before the F/X cue that sets the levels as you like then add a Follow to the new cue so your F/X cue runs without having to press 'Go' again.

Thanks, I had already thought of that, I was looking to have a Crossfade straight into the F/X, but I guess the sofware just doesnt work that way.
