I'm wondering what the best setup would be for a Festival with a Hog 500 and some Technobeams and some LEDs.
What would you put on the faders?

I would be more concerned with well made pallets.

what do you mean by well made palettes?

I guess my question really is: Which palettes would you want to access with keystrokes and what would you want on faders. Would you use two faders for positions and crossfade?
I was thinking Gobos, beam effects, movement effects on faders

Read The Automated Lighting Programmer's Handbook, by Brad Schiller. Focal Press, 2004, pp 80-83. Only page 81 is available for free online, but it still may be helpful. The entire book is definitely a "must read" for any moving light programmer.

Don't forget that you can have virtual masters on an external screen, accessible via a mouse click.
edit: Please see page 61 of the "hog500-1000v3_2.pdf" Operating Manual.

Also, in the Oct. 07 PLSN (Projection, Lighting and Staging News) Nook Shoenfeld describes the "ultimate punt page". Probably the best description of a busking setup that I've seen. You might also access it from his Visual Ventures blog at PLSN.
